Hi. I’m Helen. I started this practice because I was tired of watching good clinicians burn out in places that treated their calendars like a math problem. If you’re reading this, you’ve joined a small team that is trying to do the work differently: four days a week, a hard cap on sessions, documentation that fits inside the workday, and a front office that handles the paperwork so you can do the part you trained for. This manual is the written version of how we work. It exists so that the rules are the same for everyone, so that nobody has to guess, and so that when something goes wrong at 4:45 on a Friday you know exactly what to do and who to call. Read it once, all the way through, in your first week. Then keep it open. Most of it you’ll never need to look at again. The parts you will need, like the crisis protocol and the breach reporting steps, are written so you can find them fast. A few things I want you to know up front.
  • You can ask anything. Questions are the job, not a sign you’re not ready for it. The manual tells you who owns each kind of answer so you don’t have to ask everyone.
  • Client privacy is the whole game. We are a therapy practice. People tell us things they have told no one else. Every privacy rule in here exists to protect that trust, and we take it seriously even when it’s inconvenient.
  • Some things aren’t decided yet. We’re a young practice. Where a policy hasn’t been set, the manual says so instead of pretending. Those gaps are listed in one place, with an owner and a date.
  • This is not a contract. It describes how we work today. It will change as we grow, and we’ll tell you when it does.
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here. Helen De-Lovely, LCSW Owner, The Healing Haven SLC
